Guides › When to take magnesium
When to take magnesium: morning or night?
Short answer: Any time of day you will remember. The popular rule that magnesium must be taken at night has weak evidence; taking it consistently matters more than the clock. If you also take iron, keep them apart.

Common questions
Is magnesium better at night?
There is no good trial comparing morning and night magnesium for absorption. Taking it at night is fine if it fits your routine, but it is a preference, not a proven rule.
Can I take magnesium with food?
Yes. Taking it with a meal can be easier on the stomach for some people.
